Yann Sommer leaves Bayern Munich for Inter Milan!

Yann Sommer is leaving FC Bayern Munich to move to Inter Milan in Italy’s Serie A. The 34-year-old goalkeeper joined the German record champions from Borussia Mönchengladbach last winter.

FC Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said, “We understand and respect Yann Sommer’s desire to seek a new challenge at Inter Milan because he wants to play as the number one goalkeeper in the long term. Yann Sommer helped us out in a complicated situation when Manuel Neuer was seriously injured and we would like to thank him sincerely for his commitment. We wish him all the best and every success for the future.”

The Switzerland goalkeeper (83 caps) made 25 competitive appearances for FC Bayern Munich following his transfer during the last winter break. In total, Sommer played in the Bundesliga from 2014 to 2023. He leaves Munich for Lombardy as a reigning German Bundesliga champion.
