FC Barcelona & Bayern Munich agree in principle on Robert Lewandowski transfer!

FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Poland striker Robert Lewandowski, dependent on the player passing a medical and contracts being signed.

Robert Lewandowski was born on August 21 in the Polish capital of Warsaw. Starting his career at Legia Warsaw, his professional career began in the youth teams at 2006 at Znicz Pruszków where he was top scorer on two separate occasions.

A move followed to Polish first division side Lech Poznan where he was top scorer in the league in 2009/10. The summer of 2010 brought a move to Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund where he won the German Bundesliga league title twice and collected a runners-up medal when Jurgen Klopp’s side lost in the final of the UEFA Champions League against Bayern Munich.

Lewandowki’s next move was to none other than Bayern Munich where he becoming a vital part of the all-conquering Bavarian side. In 2020 with Bayern Munich the Polish striker won all there is to win; the Bundesliga title, the German Cup and DFL Super Cup and the Champions League in which he was top scorer with 15 goals.

The striker’s consistent goalscoring led him to be named as ‘The Best’ on two occasions, picking up the award in 2020 and 2021.

The striker from Poland stands out for his goalscoring abilities. Inside the box he has all the tools to make him a difficult striker to read as he can find the net with his head and both feet with equal precision.

His technical qualities also mean that he can link up well outside the box also. Lewandowski will bring goals, experience and know-how to the Barça attack.

Meanwhile FC Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn said, “We have agreed to release Robert Lewandowski. We have a verbal agreement with FC Barcelona, the contract is still pending. We know very well what we have to thank Robert for, but great players have also left FC Bayern in the past, and even after that, Bayern’s world did not fall apart. On the contrary, it often continued with even more success.”

FC Bayern Munich Board member for sport Hasan Salihamidžić added, “Robert Lewandowski has done great things for FC Bayern. We spoke at length with our colleagues from Barcelona and clarified the details. He said farewell this morning. After our trip to the USA, he’ll come back one more time and we’ll have a coffee together. We wish him every success at his new club.”
