Germany Men’s to wear the adidas women’s kit against England tonight!

A strong one-two from the Germany national teams: Tonight (from 8.45pm, live on ZDF), the DFB team headed by national coach Hansi Flick will play in Munich in the classic against England in the DFB Women’s UEFA European Championship jerseys from partner adidas. The squad led by captain Alexandra Popp will play in the group stage of the finals in England in Brentford against Denmark (July 8, 21:00 CEST) and Spain (July 12, from 21:00 CEST) and in Milton Keynes against Finland (June 16, from 9 p.m. CEST).

With the jersey campaign in the sold-out Allianz Arena, which has the motto “That’s what you wear this summer”, the team around captain Manuel Neuer wants to express their support for their DFB colleagues who are currently in Frankfurt as part of their first training camp prepare for the UEFA Women’s Euro.

The women’s national team, for their part, wore the black away jerseys of the men in the international match against Chile in June last year – who then played their UEFA European Championship opener against France on the same evening in Munich.

“There are two absolute highlights in football this year: the FIFA World Cup in Qatar and the UEFA European Championship in England this summer,” said Manuel Neuer. “We’re all looking forward to these tournaments at the DFB. Back then we were very happy about the support of the women’s national team. Now it’s our turn. We believe in Alex Popp’s team.”

Meanwhile Alexandra Popp said, “The fact that the lads have now taken our pass and are wearing our shirt is a great sign! It’s all about football – regardless of whether it’s played by men or women.”
