Germany’s Bundesliga needs a successful restart for world sports!

On Saturday, May 16, Germany’s Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 are set to become the first leagues in a top football nation to restart after the enforced shutdown due to the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

A lot is riding on the Bundesliga restart being a success after the two month break with the DFL having worked out and presenting an extensive hygiene plan besides social distancing measures making it possible for the German politicians to give the go ahead for closed door matches.

Now professional football is set to restart in Germany and the whole planet is watching with the sporting world hoping for things working out, then other football leagues, professional sports in the United States and elsewhere in the world are hoping with Germany restarting football, then they also could restart in the weeks to come.

But the DFL and the Bundesliga 1/2 clubs know that they need to deliver on their promises, which include no further mass Corona positive cases, players maintaining social distancing and fans staying away from venues.

And if all these measures work, then the Bundesliga get to finish the remainder of the 2019/20 season, which is important for the DFL and their clubs besides the media partners and people working in football.

The experiment is set to start and we will follow it closely…
