Macron, the international brand leader in the teamwear sector, and Club Deportivo Castellón, the Spanish Primera RFEF club, have announced a technical sponsorship deal that will tie the Italian company to the ‘albinegro’ team for the next 4 seasons.
From the 2021-2022 season on, the Macron Hero will be emblazoned on the shirts of the club which was founded in 1922 and has made several appearances in the Liga, including the 1973 Copa del Rey final, lost to Athletic Bilbao. In the early years the team’s jersey featured stripes in shades of green (representing fields), orange (for fruit) and blue (the colour of the sea), a difficult and expensive combination to produce, which led to the decision to opt for an all-white strip. In 1925, given the rivalry with Valencia, which had an identical strip, Castellón decided to add vertical black stripes, thus creating the current club colours.
History, tradition and local symbols will form the basis of the new match kits which the Macron style department and the staff of the Castellón-based club will study and develop together, creating an exclusive collection which is one of the fortes of Macron production along with the technical excellence of materials, great design and attention to detail.
