Manchester City’s charity & Kellogg’s team up for summer!

Kellogg’s, Official Breakfast Cereals Partner of Manchester City, has teamed up with the Club’s charity, City in the Community (CITC), as part of a new nationwide football camp initiative.

The ‘Kellogg’s Football Camps’ programme, which will be delivered nationwide with a number of UK football clubs, aims to keep kids active and entertained during the school summer holidays.

Here in Manchester, Kellogg’s will be working with CITC to deliver the camps at City Football Academy (CFA), helping to bolster the charity’s existing holiday provision and provide free breakfast for those attending the camps.

Commenting on the announcement, City in the Community CEO, Mike Geary, said, “We are delighted to be working with Kellogg’s to get more young people active during the summer holidays. City in the Community has been delivering free inclusive football sessions out of term time for decades now, targeting local children who need it most.”

“However, this new initiative will enable us to expand our offer during the summer by also welcoming those who sign up through the ‘Kellogg’s Football Camps’ initiative.”

Nedum Onuoha, former Manchester City player and City in the Community participant, added, “Growing up in East Manchester, I took part in City in the Community summer football sessions, which were then led by Alex Williams, so I know first-hand the positive impact they can have on young lives.”

“Now a Trustee of the charity, I am all too aware of the continued need for young people to access a safe and productive space during the holidays. Our purpose is to empower healthier lives through football – an ethos that clearly also rings true for Manchester-born Kellogg’s.”

To celebrate the launch, Manchester City Women’s players Chloe Kelly, Demi Stokes and Ruby Mace also surprised kids from the local community during a training session.
