Indian Super League franchise NorthEast United FC have announced the signing of Danish defender Michael Jakobsen for the 2022/23 season.

36 year old Michael Jakobsen, who was born in Copenhagen, played for Boldklubben 1908 and Boldklubben af 1893 in his youth before moving to Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven.

Thereafter Jakobsen played for Aalborg BK, Spain’s UD Almeria, FC Copenhagen, FC Nordsjælland (on loan), Esbjerg fB 58, Norway’s Lillestrøm SK (on loan) before playing for Australian A-League sides Melbourne City FC and Adelaide United.

Now Michael Jakobsen moves to India to add defensive stability to the Highlanders.
