Pablo Barrios and Atlético de Madrid have reached an agreement for the renewal of the footballer until June 30, 2028. In addition, the young midfielder from the Academy becomes part of the first team for all purposes.
In 2018, Pablo joined the Atleti Academy from Real Madrid. In his first season he would play in Cadet B. After serving for almost five seasons in the Academy, where he became a fundamental pillar in Juvenil A last season and in this beginning of the campaign with the subsidiary, Pablo fulfilled the dream of making his debut with the first template.
At 19, the young midfielder made his debut with the first team in LaLiga against CF Cádiz. Just a few days later, Pablo also made his debut for the club in the UEFA Champions League, playing the last game of the group stage against FC Porto.
After the FIFA World Cup break, the youth squad player started the first official match in Copa del Rey against Arenteiro, a match in which he would score his first official goal with the first team and which culminated the comeback. His second goal would come a few days later in another cup match, this time in Real Oviedo, which served to certify our team’s qualification for the round of 16.
In total, Pablo Barrios has already played eight games with the first team and has become a fixture in Diego Pablo Simeone’s squad.
