Scotland release special 150th edition anniversary kit by adidas!

As part of the association’s 150th anniversary celebrations, the Scottish FA have today released a special edition shirt to commemorate this historic landmark.

The Scotland National Team has a rich history stretching back 150 years – from taking to the pitch at Hamilton Crescent for the first ever international football match against England, to more recently seeing both Men’s and Women’s National Teams qualify for major tournaments.

The Scotland Men’s National Team will debut the shirt on the field in their UEFA EURO 2024 qualifier against Cyprus on Saturday, March 25, while the Scotland Women’s National Team will wear the shirt against Costa Rica at Hampden Park on Tuesday, April 11.

To further mark the 150th Anniversary, the shirt will be worn by the Scotland Men’s National Team in the special Anniversary Heritage friendly match against England at Hampden Park on Tuesday, September 12.

The shirt draws inspiration from the first ‘uniform’ worn by the Scotland players in the historic first match against England in 1872.

It reflects the nation’s football heritage with a simple design. Dominated by the traditional dark blue, it is finished with a round white collar and woven crest. The Lion Rampant is highlighted in gold against a tonal crest, so as to match the look of the first crest worn on early Scotland shirts.

The striped sleeve cuffs give a nod to the importance of Queen’s Park FC, who formed the basis of Scotland’s earliest national team all those years ago.

The shirt features moisture-wicking AEROREADY to add a dash of modern-day comfort and is made with 100 percent recycled materials – part of our combined efforts to help end plastic waste.
