New Balance announce Technical Partnership with Standard Liege of Belgium!

US sportswear company New Balance have added Belgian Jupiter League side Royal Standard de Liège to roster of technical partnerships with European clubs and are set to provide the team with kit, training wear and equipment starting with the upcoming 2017/18 season.

For New Balance, the Standard Liège signing follows deals with Spanish LaLiga side Athletic Bilbao in a six-year deal as these clubs join Liverpool FC, Celtic Glasgow, FC Porto, FC Sevilla and LOSC Lille as New Balance kitted teams across Europe plus last weeks announcment of signing with their first national team in Ireland.

“New Balance and Standard de Liège were predestined to collaborate together,” said Bruno Venanzi, president of Standard Liege. “The American brand is breathing fresh air in the world of football equipment manufacturers and has succeeded in only a few seasons to become the partner of historical clubs of character such as LOSC Lille, Liverpool, FC Porto, Celtic, Seville and Athletic Biblao.”

“Our club is pleased to be part of this dynamics and hopes to build with New Balance a solid foundation for future successes.”

Richard Wright, general manager of New Balance Football, added, “As a sports brand, we are also delighted with this partnership and look forward to seeing the new jerseys for fans. We are convinced that this collaboration is the beginning of an exciting adventure that will lead us all to success.”

Jacques Royer, owner of Groupe Royer, the Belgian distributor of New Balance, said, “The Royer Group is obviously pleased with the collaboration between New Balance and Standard de Liège.”

“It is our first partnership in the Benelux and we are delighted to choose this prestigious club with a history so rich in Belgium. We hope to be able to write together a new chapter in the great football history of this great club.”
