LaLiga join UEFA and FIFA in European Super League lawsuit!

LaLiga have decided to appear in the proceedings no.150/2021 brought before the 17th Commercial Court of Madrid with regard to the lawsuit filed by the organisation representing the European Super League against UEFA and FIFA. This intervention by LaLiga has been requested both in the precautionary measures and in the main proceedings.

Having become aware, through the media, of the adoption of an order establishing certain interim measures, dated April 20, 2021; as well as a second order, dated July 1, 2021, which explicitly mentions the national leagues and the president of LaLiga, LaLiga believe that there is a legitimate interest in taking part in these proceedings, given that the decisions arising from them will clearly affect the balance of football in Europe.

LaLiga have always defended the need for improvements, but not along the lines proposed by Super League.

The content of these two orders has a direct impact on the actions and declarations of LaLiga, thus affecting its rights, powers and functions as a professional league.
