Odisha FC score a 1-0 win against NorthEast United FC!

Odisha FC sink NorthEast United FC at home to complete two back-to-back wins.

After a convincing comeback victory against Simon Grayson’s Blues, the Kalinga Warriors took on Juan Pedro Benali’s NorthEast United FC in a weekend clash at home.

Odisha FC also managed to secure a hard-fought clean sheet thanks to the defensive wall, which included Narender, Carlos, Jerry, and Amey, who restricted the visitors to only three attempts on their goal.

Keeper Amrinder Singh, leading from the back, also put in an impressive shift against the Highlanders, making some crucial saves in the second half.

The boys started the game strong, controlling the ball more and incisive in the final third. The breakthrough came in the 37th minute when NorthEast United FC custodian Mirshad played a misplaced pass to Diego Mauricio who put the hosts ahead.

The Moroccan midfielder Ahmed Jahouh was the center of attraction for the Kalinga Warriors as he recorded an impressive 82% passing accuracy, 7 clearances, 2 crosses, and interceptions each.

Sergio Lobera’s side showed immense resilience to see off the game and secure all three points at home once again.

Odisha FC will travel away to Maldives to take on Maziya S&RC in the AFC Cup. Kick-off scheduled on Tuesday, November 7 at 15:00 IST.
