ISL-4: Bottom side Delhi Dynamos hold table toppers Chennaiyin FC to a 2-2 draw!

Former champions Chennaiyin FC lost their top spot in ISL-4 due to a late equaliser in a 2-2 draw against the Delhi Dynamos at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium (Marina Arena) in Chennai.

The hosts went into attack from the start, but against the run of play the guest from the capital went ahead in the 24th minute when a Nandakumar cross was put into the net by a David Ngaihte header. After chances at both ends, Chennaiyin FC equalised in the 43rd minute through Jeje Lalpekhlua off a Rene Mihelic pass. At the break it was even at 1-1.

Chennaiyin FC went ahead in the 51st minute when Germanpreet Singh found Jeje Lalpekhlua, who scored his second of the night. Towards the end the Delhi Dynamos were pushing for the equaliser and they got it through substitute Guyon Fernandez, which robbed Chennaiyin FC their top position as later in the day Bengaluru FC beat ATK and went top, while the Delhi Dynamos despite the point stay bottom of the league.
