RheinEnergie remains 1.FC Köln partner until 2024!

RheinEnergie has extended its contract with 1. FC Köln and will remain a partner until 2024, while in a separate deal the stadium naming rights for the RheinEnergieStadion has also been extended and they remain engaged with the 1.FC Köln U-21 team, the Kids-Club, and the training ground at the Geißbockheim.

1.FC Köln president Werner Spinner, “Our work together with RheinEnergie works in both good and bad times. As a locally established company, RheinEnergie is an important partner for us. It is a good signal that we were able to extend on a long-term basis. Part of the deal also means the South Stand will be renamed to honor Hans Schäfer. As the kit sponsor of the U21 team and partner of the RheinEnergieSportpark at Geissbockheim, RheinEnergie will remain closely knit with our academy work.”

1.FC Köln managing director Alexander Wehrle, “Long-term is an important element for a successful partnership, which is exemplified by the stadium naming deal. We are happy that RheinEnergie gave us a competitive offer for the contract extension. We have developed a trustful cooperation from which both sides can profit. In the coming years we will take on innovative themes like electro-mobility together.”

Dr. Dieter Stenkamp, Board member of RheinEnergieAG, “We are staying with you, for another six years. We are happy to extend our partnership with 1. FC Köln as the stadium naming rights holder and as a close partner of the youth academy. I think it is important, particularly at a time like this, to send a signal. We believe in FC. We are not just there for the success on the international stage, but we will cheer you on in the second league as well. Our partnership with FC should be a lively one full of energy. Electro-Mobility plays an important role and we want to develop this with FC together. It will be a topic relevant to the matches. We still have plenty we want to develop in and around the stadium as well.”
