The Indian Super League home match of ATK vs FC Goa at the Saltlake Stadium in Kolkata will be delayed by an hour today, (January 3, 2018) due to unavoidable circumstances.
“The match between ATK and FC Goa will be delayed for a minimum of one hour,” Football Sports Development Limited, the competition organisers, said in a statement.
The Gaurs are only arriving a few hours before the match after yesterday their chartered flight from Goa to Kolkata had to be aborted and the aircraft returned to Goa due to a technical problem. Due to this unavoidable fact, FC Goa were to leave for Kolkata today, but a MIG 29 caught fire at Dabolim airport which resulted in a complete shutdown of the airport’s runway and a further delay of their departure.
Originally the match had been scheduled for December 31, 2017; but Kolkata Police due to new year’s eve asked the match to be rescheduled.
Today Match 37 of ISL-4 was scheduled to kick-off at 8pm IST but now has been pushed by an hour considering the expected late arrival of FC Goa to Kolkata, while it could be pushed to 10pm depending on when FC Goa arrive in the City of Joy. A even further later arrival could lead to a postponement of the match.
