Mohun Bagan suffer CFL setback, score only 1-1 draw against Rainbow AC!

Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan AC suffered a first setback in their 2017 Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘A’ campaign with an unexpected 1-1 draw against promoted Rainbow AC at their own Mohun Bagan ground on Wednesday evening.

Mohun Bagan wasted some early chances and then went behind on the half hour mark as a Sourav Roy cross was headed in by Suraj Mahato. Rainbow AC held their lead at the breather.

At the start of the second session, Mohun Bagan had more and more problems as the young Rainbow AC got better and better, but on the hour mark Mohun Bagan equalised through a Kromah rebound.

Thereafter the Mariners had chances to win but it remained 1-1 at the final whistle.

With their first draw of the CFL season, Mohun Bagan went ahead of their archrivals East Bengal to the top of the table with 16 points from six matches.
