Second Division League poised for dramatic finish!

On the brink of the last leg of the round-robin stage matches, the Second Division League is awaiting nothing less than a nail-biting finishing.

After a repetitive postponement of matches owing to the worse weather condition, finally, the Kashmir outfits have hit the pitch after a hiatus. After four match-weeks, Delhi United and Real Kashmir are tied at the top with six points. Sudeva Moonlight FC are stranded in the third spot, having garnered one point fewer. Lonestar Kashmir FC, at the moment, are at the bottom with four points.

Incidentally, Real Kashmir will host both Delhi-based teams in the next two legs, but those matches will be played at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi.

Group B has reached the climax and the curtain call is scheduled for this Saturday. Neroca FC have clinched four wins so far from their five matches and the Manipur-based outfit are gearing up to host the Black Panthers in the last match of Group B.

Hindustan FC are also going to host Southern Samity in the other match of Group B on the same day. Albeit Hindustan FC failed to open their account so far in the Second Division League, the Kolkata-based team can’t afford to take them lightly.

Southern Samity and Mohammedan Sporting both are locked at nine points from five matches, while Southern Samity are enjoying a better goal difference (+1).

All four teams are also running neck-to-neck to qualify from Group C. Although debutantes Pride Sports haven’t enjoyed a placid run, but the other three clubs have given others a run for their money to fix the National Finals dates. Mumbai-based Kenkre FC have already qualified from this group and other two teams Fateh Hyderabad AFC & debutantes Ozone FC Bengaluru are vying for the final spot and none can afford any slip-up at the moment.

Table-toppers Kenkre FC are scheduled to host Ozone FC Bengaluru, who have garnered seven points so far on the penultimate day of the round-robin stage whereas Pride Sports will welcome Fateh Hyderabad AFC in the other match on the same day. Fateh Hyderabad are enjoying the second spot at the moment with nine points, two points more than third-placed Ozone FC Bengaluru.
