ISL-5: NorthEast United FC win it late at struggling ATK!

Two-time former Indian Super League champions ATK suffered a second home loss in ISL-5 by losing 0-1 to NorthEast United FC at the Saltlake Stadium on Thursday evening.

The match kicked-off with both teams wanting to control the midfield which resulted in limited action infront of both goals.

A key turning point of the match came in the 32nd minute when left-back Sena Ralte was send off for a second booking after a rough foul on Nikhil Kadam and that harmed ATK, who become more defensive wanting to secure their own goal. At the break the match was goalless.

But at the start of the second session, ATK had a couple of chances through their captain Manuel Lanzarote, but the longer the half lasted, the more NorthEast United FC took control of things but they had to wait until the 89th minute to score the winner.

A Gallego corner was headed in by India international midfielder Rowllin Borges for his first-ever ISL goal and the first win in ages for the Highlanders.

ATK now travel to Delhi Dynamos for their first away match of ISL-5 on October 17, while the next day NorthEast United FC travel to Chennaiyin FC to face the champions.
