From March 11 to 19, 2023, UEFA join once again CAFE to raise awareness on accessibility and inclusion in football on their 10th annual Week of Action.
Together, we share the common goal of making the game accessible and inclusive for everyone, and work to harness the unique power of the world’s most popular sport to break down accessibility barriers, improve disabled spectators’ experiences, and enable easier access to football-related jobs.
Michele Uva, UEFA Football and Social Responsibility Director, said, “Only actions can bring change, and we are happy to support CAFE’s Week of Action for this reason. Through collaborative action can we reach the targets outlined in our sustainability strategy – and this includes all aspects of accessibility. We want to see more disabled fans enjoying football, we want to see more disabled people working across football, and we are committed to taking actions that concretely impact accessibility in European football.”
#TotalAccess activities throughout the week
This week, the #TotalAccess campaign places disabled fans and accessibility into the spotlight and recognises the many roles that disabled people can play right across the football industry.
The campaign showcases a number of activities and events aimed at increasing awareness of accessibility and inclusion, including a panel discussion on March 14 from 14:00 CET that will feature national associations’ experiences and good practices examples, as well as a discussion on strategic approaches.

Our actions to foster accessibility in European football
Our commitment to improve accessibility and inclusion in European football is at the heart of our sustainability strategy, as demonstrated through the Football For All Abilities pillar. For example, we currently support 25 national associations’ accessibility and inclusion projects through Football Social Responsibility HatTrick funding, such as the Football Association of Wales’ campaign celebrating good access and inclusion at sports venues.
On 9 March, we also launched a new procedure for validating eligibility for accessible tickets. This procedure streamlines the process for disabled fans and spectators, who can now validate their eligibility for accessible tickets ahead of ticket sale phases. Under the new procedure, the validation process only needs to be completed once, and the individual will then be validated for eligibility across all UEFA ticket sales.
Steps to follow to validate your eligibility for accessible tickets
– Visit: https://register.tickets.uefa.com/
– Create an account or login to an existing account
– Submit your proof of eligibility and enter all the information required within the registration process.
– Once your registration is completed and validated, you will be able to apply for accessible tickets for ongoing sales on the relevant Ticket Portals at uefa.com/tickets.
