2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup – France draw conducted in Rennes!

The draw for the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup – France was held at the Rennes Opera House yesterday, March 8 with 16 nations in the fray for the coveted trophy.

The draw results revealed that hosts and last edition’s runners-up France will play their opening match of the competition at Vannes’ Stade de la Rabine on Sunday, August 5, at 19:30h (local time) against Ghana. New Zealand and the Netherlands were also drawn in Group A.

Meanwhile defending champions North Korea have been drawn against England, Mexico and Brazil in Group B.

As momentum around the competition continues to grow, former French international Camille Abily, FIFA Legend Mikaël Silvestre, grassroots footballer Aéla Mocaer and Paralympic skipper Damien Seguin took to the main stage of the opera house as draw assistants, much to the delight of the many young football fans present.

The 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup – France will take place from August 5 to 24 in the four host cities – Concarneau, Dinan/Lehon, Saint-Malo and Vannes.
