2018 FIFA World Cup – Group G: England need injury time winner over Tunisia!

The 2018 FIFA World Cup continued on Monday, June 18 evening with England needing a Harry Kane injury time winner over Tunisia at the Volgograd Arena.

England started off with an attacking intent with Lingard missing an early chance before a corner saw a Harry Kane rebound give the Three Lions an 11th lead. Tunisia lost their keeper Mouez Hassen due to a shoulder injury after the first quarter of the game. England initially kept up the pressure, but slowly Tunisia worked their way into the game and in the 35th minute they earned a controversial penalty as Kyle Walker elbowed Ben Youssef. Ferjani Sassi stepped up and banged the ball into the net. The match went into the break with the score 1-1.

In the second session the match became totally boring as England didn’t find the gaps except from standards, while Tunisia was content to defend. The winner came in the first minute of added time for England off another corner which went to Harry Maguire, who on to Harry Kane and he headed in to give the Three Lions the win.
