2018 FIFA World Cup – PQF: Brazil overcome Mexico 2-0!

The 2018 FIFA World Cup continued on Monday, July 2 afternoon with record champions Brazil scoring a 2-0 win over Mexico at the Samara Arena.

Mexico had the better start into the match but after about 25 minutes, Brazil took charge of the game but it remained goalless at the break.

The second session started with chances at both ends before Brazil took the lead. Neymar to Willian, who went wide and squared the ball for Neymar to score in the 51st minute for Brazil.

Now in an open match both sides had their chances, Brazil to enhance their lead and Mexico to equalise but it remained 1-0 for the Selecao.

Neymar again was in the middle of a scandal as outside the sideline the Brazilian was on the ground blocking the ball, Layun stamps his ankle and Neymar behaves as if his ankle is broken, unbelieveable and referee Rocchi handled the issue well without any card or foul given.

Mexico towards the end had more of the ball but no chance to equalise, while Brazil sealed the win in the 88th minute as Neymar on the left played the ball similarly as for the first goal into the middle for substitute Roberto Firmino to score.

Brzil on 2-0 and move into their seventh consequitive FIFA World Cup quarterfinal.
