ISL-4: FC Pune City score a 2-0 upset win at FC Goa!

High flying FC Goa suffered a 0-2 home loss to FC Pune City in ISL-4 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao on Saturday afternoon.

FC Goa have been on fire since the start of this ISL campaign and that is what FC Pune City under coach Ranko Popovic wanted to stop knowing very well that the Gaurs at home are an attacking nightmare for most defences and it worked on the day.

The ISL’s top scorer Ferran Corominas had the first chance of the match for FC Goa with later on Manuel Lanzarote also causing problems to FC Pune City, but thereafter they settled down had chances of their own. It stayed goalless at the break.

After chances at both ends, FC Pune City went ahead in the 72nd minute when Marcelinho put Emiliano Alfaro through on goal, he beat Mohammed Ali and placed the ball past Laxmikant Kattimani.

FC Pune City sealed the three points when substitute Jonatan Lucca, a former FC Goa player, scored off a follow-up to give the guests a comfortable 2-0 and it would stay that way until the end.
