ISL-5: FC Pune City hold Kerala Blasters to 1-1 draw!

Bottom of the ISL-5 table FC Pune City held the Kerala Blasters to a 1-1 draw at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex Stadium on Friday evening.

After early pressure and chances for the guests from Kerala, the hosts went ahead against the run of play in the 13th minute through a Marko Stankovic stunner.

Despite going behind, it still meant that the Blasters put pressure on FC Pune City and they thought they had equalised just on the brink of half-time as Nikola Krcmarevic scored but a foul was given after chaotic scenes in the Pune box. At the break, FC Pune City were surprisingly ahead.

FC Pune City could have been two goals up after the 57th minute, but Emiliano Alfaro after having been fouled took the penalty himself but hit the crossbar. And that was punished in the 61st minute when midfielder Nikola Krcmarevic scored and this time the goal stood.

Both teams had chances to win but the game ended with a 1-1 draw.

The Kerala Blasters next host Bengaluru FC on November 5, while the very next day FC Pune City host defending champions Chennaiyin FC in a bottom of the table clash.
