Former champions Minerva Punjab FC co-owner Ranjit Bajaj today pulled his team out of the I-League on social media.
Ranjit Bajaj has been vocal on Twitter about stuff that he things are going wrong in Indian football, sometimes right but on other occasions wrong.
Today then came out the news that the Government of Odisha yesterday decided to pulled the hosting rights of the AFC Cup home matches of Minerva Punjab FC, which Ranjit Bajaj blamed on the AIFF and their marketing partners FSDL.
The Odisha government’s letter to Minerva Punjab FC states that the Kalinga Stadium is being considered as one of the likely venues for the 2020 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup, and hence will undergo needed renovation.
After being champions playing in the @AFCCup was our right @minervapunjabfc but came to know who that it’s AIFF &(FSDL)who has got our permission cancelled -ODISHA sports dept is saying talk to them-I am shattered that my own parent body is sabotaging our afc stadium ??????

Thereafter Ranjit Bajaj then tweeted that he and his wife Heena would pull their team from the I-League as no other option was left to them disbanding their senior team after finishing their AFC Cup commitments, if allowed to by the AFC.
With a very heavy heart ?? today I have decided that @minervapunjabfc will have to do what so many others have done/CHAMPIONS of @ILeagueOfficial for 2018-19 for SENIORS/Under 13/ under 15 /under 18 – SIX TITLES(4 years) 60 plus boys to various Indian teams is going to shut??

We will be banned by AFC as it’s too late to change the venue/ if our parent body AIFF doesn’t help us get the stadium which they got cancelled thru govt of odhisa – one of the main reason why we are going out- sabotaged by our parent body Again& again @minervapunjabfc
