Mumbai’s Independence Day Cup fixtures announced by the MDFA!

The new 2017/18 season of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) is set to kick off as the annual MDFA Independence Day Cup is edging closer as the curtain raiser for the forthcoming season.

As it is been organized over the years, the Independence Day Cup will be played on August 14/15 at St. Xavier’s Ground in Parel and will be contested among Mumbai’s Elite & Super Division teams.

A total of 16 teams in Indian Navy (Defending Champions), Western Railway, Air India, Mumbai Customs, Union Bank of India, Kenkre FC, Central Bank of India, HDFC, Sellebrity FC, Century Rayon, Millat FC, Young Boys, Mumbai Muslim, Dena Bank, Karnataka Sports Association and Mumbai Strikers.

It will be a 9-A side match with 20 minutes each half. If the match is tied at the end of normal time, there will be no extra-time and the match will be decided on a penalty shootout.
