Roots Football School became champions of the inaugural season of the KSFA (Karnataka State Football Association) Youth Premier League – Under-15 category after winning their last league match 2-1 against Boca Juniors at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Sunday. At the end of the three month long league, Roots Football School remained unbeaten to finish top with 23 points from 9 matches, with 7 wins and 2 draws.
In a must win match for either team to become champions, Elvis scored the opening goal for Boca Juniors in the 39th minute. Yohan Victor equalized for Roots FS soon after in the 42nd minute. Vishal R scored the winning goal for Roots FS in the 67th minute.
The inaugural season of the KSFA Youth Premier League across two categories, Under-15, U-13, had ten top invited academy teams from Bangalore playing in a round robin format over three months from August to October at the Bangalore Football Stadium.
