Special Football Transfer review to kick off Americas market discussion at Soccerex USA!

At Soccerex USA this November 15/16 in Miami, Esteve Calzada, Founder and CEO of Prime Time Sport will present a special Americas edition of the Football Transfer Review (FTR) – the leading biannual analysis of Europe’s transfer market. This presentation will kick off an expert analysis of “The Evolution of the Transfer Market in the Americas” featuring senior figures from Benfica, Boca Juniors, and Wasserman, and will review the recent trends in transfer spend and player movement across the top 5 leagues in the Americas.

With Prime Time Sport, Esteve has run the FTR since 2009 – and in partnership with Soccerex since 2014 – publishing key numbers and data relating to transfers of players in European football, which create a point of reference for the industry and media alike. At Soccerex USA, Esteve will shift the focus to the Americas in a special edition of the FTR. The study will review the top five leagues in the Americas – US, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico – looking at key areas of the transfer market. The report will include the progression of these leagues’ investments and sales in the last two years, comparisons between the top five American and European leagues, a general comparison between the Americas and Europe, the most expensive American signings, and the most expensive American sales to the US.

Fuelled by escalating broadcast and commercial deals, the transfer market in Europe may dwarf that of the Americas but there is still a vibrancy to the market in the region’s big leagues with some interesting trends developing. By looking at these trends, the Football Transfer Review presentation will set the scene for a wider discussion on the current transfer markets in the Americas, featuring Benfica Group CEO, Domingos Soares De Oliviera, Boca Juniors Board Member Diego Lajst and Wasserman EVP & Managing Executive, Global Soccer, Richard Motzkin.
