Tata Trusts Centre of Excellence are inaugural Mizoram U-15 League champions!

The inaugural Mizoram Under-15 League was concluded on Saturday, December 1 at the AR Lammual with Tata Trusts Centre of Excellence beating Aizawl FC Academy 2-1 in the final.

The final was an entertaining affair with the difference between the two teams made in a space of six frantic minutes.

Tata Trusts CoE’s Rakesh Singh netted from Salam Sinah’s cross on the 56th minute. But their lead would not last a minute as Aizawl FC Academy pulled level throuh Riky Lalramnghaka.

Tata Trusts CoE then retook the lead five minutes later with Rakesh Singh finishing off after he was put through with a brilliant ball.

The Mizoram Under-15 League was played by 10 teams over the course of four months from the month of August. It has been one of the more established Under-15 leagues in the country despite running for just a season.

The ten teams faced each other twice in the league rounds with the top four teams qualifying for the semifinals, which is organised by the Mizoram Football Association and Tata Trusts.

Tata Trusts Head of Sports Bishwanath Sinha was the chief guest for the finals.

The 10 teams that took part in the Mizoram under-15 league are Aizawl FC Academy, Aizawl Grassroots Centre, Bawngkawn GSA, Chanmari FC, Competitors for Christ (Ramthar North), FC Stonzz (Armed Veng), Kanan FC, M 28 Academy (Republic Veng), Tata Trust COE and Sihphir Venghlun FC.

Champion: Tata Trust CoE – Rs 50,000
Runners-Up: Aizawl FC Academy – Rs 30,000
Semifinalists:Chanmari FC & Aizawl Grassroots Centre – Rs 20,000 each
5th position: M 28 Academy, Republic Veng – Rs 18,000
6th position: Sihphir Venghlun FC – Rs 16,000
7th position: FC Stonzz, Armed Veng – Rs 14,000
8th position: Kanan FC – Rs 12,000
9th position: Bawngkawn GSA – Rs 10,000
10th position: Competitors for Christ – Rs 8,000

Fair Play: Aizawl FC Academy – Rs 20,000
