The inaugural Super Cup 2018 to kick-off on Saturday!

The final round of the inaugural Super Cup 2018 is set to kick-off tomorrow, March 31 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha with eight teams each from the Indian Super League and I-League facing each other to find India’s new FA Cup champions.

The newly created Super Cup replaces the old Federation Cup which had been held for four decades and it is for the first-time ever that ISL and I-League first teams are facing each other in an official competition.

The Super Cup – Round of 16 opening match would see current ISL champions Chennaiyin FC taking on former I-League winners Aizawl FC, who due to their AFC Cup commitments have to play on the opening day of the tournament on March 31, while ISL-4 finalists Bengaluru FC play qualifier Gokulam Kerala FC on the next day, April 1 due to the Bengaluru FC vs Aizawl FC match in the AFC Cup.

The further schedule of the draw depends on the fact if Aizawl FC are able to beat Chennaiyin FC or not, if they do then the schedule will be adjusted accordingly. The final of the tournament has been scheduled for April 20 at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
