Defending champions AIFF Elite Academy defeated DSK Shivajians FC 2-1 in the U-18 I-League at the Barasat Stadium in Kolkata earlier today.
The AIFF Elite Academy coming on the back of a 4-1 win against Minerva Punjab FC conceded an early goal as in the 12th minute as opponents DSK Shivajians took the lead.
The Colts tried to press for the equalizer and in the 43rd minute Namgyal’s effort from the freekick hit the woodwork and went out. DSK Shivajians went with a 10 lead into the breather.
Changing over, the AIFF Elite Academy hit the crossbar again in the 56th minute when Tluanga’s shot from inside the box rattled the woodwork. However in the 74th minute the Colts were awarded a penalty and Tluanga scored to level proceedings. In the 83rd minute, Minga latched on to an Edmund cross and scored to give the Colts the lead as the scoreline read 2-1.
The full-time scoreline read the same as the AIFF Elite Academy registered their second win on the U-18 League. The Colts have six points out of two matches played and face Bengaluru FC next in their final group game.
