Indian Arrows’ Floyd Pinto: Its a matter of time before results keep coming our way!

The road in the I-League for AIFF’s development side the Indian Arrows has been tough. With one win and one draw from seven matches, the young colts, despite showcasing their attacking skills, have fallen prey to complacency thus suffering losses.

Not willing to read much into the results, Floyd Pinto, Head Coach Indian Arrows maintained that the primary objective is to “give a good account on the field”.

“Our primary objective is to give a good testament of ourselves in the matches which we play, and prove that we are on the same page as the opponents. We never back down. We play with the best of our abilities in each and every match,” Pinto stated.

“All throughout this season we have showed our attacking capabilities but have lacked the finishing in front of goal,” he added. “We are a developing side. We have been playing with a lot of permutations and combinations keeping in mind the development of each and every player.”

Against Aizawl FC in their last home match which ended in a 0-0 draw, the Indian Arrows were unlucky not to surge into the lead in the second-half when Boris Singh’ curler hit the crossbar.

The Indian Arrows have three U-16 Indian National Team players in their ranks too.

“The potential is there and it’s huge. It is just a matter of time before everything starts coming together and results keep going our way,” the Coach felt.

Skipper Amarjit Singh, who had also captained India in the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup – India, put up a brave face. “We are confident of the season that lies ahead and there are still many matches to be played. We have the potential to turn things around. It is just a matter of time before things go our way,” he pronounced.
