ISL-4: Champions ATK score 2-2 comeback draw against Kerala Blasters!

Defending champions ATK twice came back from a goal down to draw 2-2 against Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League at the Saltlake Stadium on Thursday evening.

After chances at both ends, the Kerala Blasters went ahead in the 33th minute when new signing Gudjon Baldvinsson scored off a cross from youngster Prasanth K.

But the lead only lasted five minutes as ATK equalised in the 38th minute. Ryan Taylor intercepted the ball and took a long-range attempt which went into the goal off a deflection Lalruatthara. At the break it was 1-1.

After the break the Kerala Blasters had the better start. After wasting an early chance through Baldvinsson’s header in the 55th minute the Blasters went ahead again when Bulgarian striker volleyed the ball in for his first-ever ISL goal.

But the hosts weren’t beaten yet as a Ryan Taylor cross in the 75th minute was headed into the goal by Tom Thorpe to equalise for a second time on the night.

The Blasters had chances to win the match through Milan Singh and Baldvinsson, but remained 2-2 until the end of the match.
