Bad news for Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan as their Spanish winger Julen Colinas’ ligament injury sustained in Monday evening’s match against Gokulam Kerala FC rules him out of the rest of the 2019/20 I-League campaign as per additional medical exams in last few days. The player could only leave the field on Monday with the help of teammates with a serioud injury on the left knee.
The exams revealed a ligament tear to Colinas’ left knee that will keep him out of action for the whole length of I-League. After detailed analysis by the specialists, a consensus was reached that it is for the best of Colinas that he undergoes proper rest, rehab and training to return to the field earliest.
With Julen Colinas now out, Mohun Bagan will look for a suitable replacement with former club star Sony Norde of Haiti being considered to rejoin the club in January when the transfer window opens.
