Struggling ISL newcomers Hyderabad FC part ways with Phil Brown!

Struggling Indian Super League newcomers Hyderabad FC on Saturday, January 11 parted ways with their head coach Phil Brown.

Hyderabad FC co-owner Varun Tripuraneni said in a statement, “We at the club would like to sincerely thank Phil for his efforts since joining Hyderabad FC. We have had some challenging times in the inaugural season and Phil led the team admirably. All of us at the club would like to wish Phil the very best in his future endeavours.”

60 year old Phil Brown had joined the old FC Pune City franchise on Christmas Eve 2018 and in his six matches in-charge they won three, drew two and lost one to finish seventh last season.

But after the shift to Hyderabad things very often did not go right for the club.

Only on Friday night Hyderabad FC had suffered a 1-3 home loss to former champions Chennaiyin FC in a deservng defeat to stay bottom of the ISL table with only five points from 12 matches.

The newly formed club which took over FC Pune City’s franchise in the ISL had a tough start in the new city with only winning one of their 12 matches, the home game against Kerala Blasters with high profile draws against ATK and Bengaluru FC also at home but suffering losses on all six away matches on the road.

The club has so far not announced who would replace Phil Brown in the dugout.
