East Bengal score 2-0 CFL win over West Bengal Police!

Eight-time defending champions East Bengal Club scored a 2-0 win over West Bengal Police in the Calcutta Football League – Premier Division ‘A’ at the East Bengal ground on Monday evening.

After the champions first match against Tollygunge Agragami was abandoned on Friday, the red and gold faithfuls hoped for better weather and the full 90 minutes after wins for rivals Mohun Bagan and Mohammedan Sporting.

East Bengal made the perfect start as in the 14th minute as midfielder Lalrindika Ralte scored off a rebound off keeper Soumava Ghosh.

They doubled the lead in the 38th minute as a Lalramchullova cross was put into the net by a strong Kassim Aidara. At the break East Bengal were 2-0 ahead.
