Odisha FC overcome NorthEast United FC to go second in ISL!

Odisha FC clinched their third consecutive win of the season as they edged past NorthEast United FC at the Kalinga Stadium on Friday night.

Nandhakumar and Jerry Mawihmingthanga got their names on the scoresheet to help the Juggernauts go above Hyderabad FC and sit in second spot on the ISL points table.

Nandha drew first blood for the hosts in the 25th minute courtesy of a Diego Mauricio assist. The Chennai local has now scored his fourth goal of the season and is in hot form. Diego has been involved in four goal contributions for the Juggernauts.

The Highlanders equalized through Rochharzela’s first-time finish in the 60th minute. But NorthEast United FC’s equaliser didn’t last long when Jerry Mawihmingthanga pounced on Saul’s attempt on goal and slotted it home past Arindam Bhattacharjya in the 78th minute.

Jerry’s winner against the Highlanders is the club’s 99th goal. This win ensures Odisha FC’s 100% record at home this season.

The Juggernauts travel to face FC Goa for their next fixture on December 10 at Fatorda.
